The Beatles Story 1964 Documentary LP Acetates

1964. (Capitol) As a follow-up album to the Beatles' "Something New" LP, Capitol Records was planning on releasing "Live At The Hollywood Bowl". However, George Martin and the Beatles were not satisfied with the recorded performance and they blocked the album's release. As a replacement, Capitol issued the 2 LP documentary album "The Beatles Story". The album, produced by Gary Usher and Roger Christian, consisted of Beatles song snippets, narration and interviews with the Beatles and others and was released on November 23rd, 1964. The project was originally titled "The Beatles Documentary" and acetates with this title were cut as early as September of 1964. This stereo set of 2 acetates was cut on October 16th, 1964 and is titled "Beatle Documentary". Other than the title, it is the same as the final commercial version which was issued. Slight staining on labels. Disc VG.
